LOOKING BEYOND THE FAMILIAR
We went to Alibaba in Hangzhou to explore Qwen.
Our Principal Consultant visited Alibaba Cloud in Hangzhou and Westlake University. Discussions there widened our view of Qwen, other open-source models and the infrastructure that runs them.
It sharpened questions we bring into training for New Zealand teams: inference cost, where data sits, how to govern AI use and how to avoid vendor lock-in.
