Text Reload is Now a Certified Xero App Partner

December 21, 2025 Imesha Sudasingha

We’re genuinely thrilled to share some exciting news: Text Reload is now an official Xero App Partner. You can find us listed on the Xero App Store, which means our integration has been reviewed, tested, and approved by the Xero team. This is a milestone we’ve been working towards, and we’re proud to have achieved it.

Why This Matters

For those unfamiliar, Xero is a cloud accounting platform founded right here in New Zealand, and it’s become the go-to solution for small businesses across Australia and New Zealand. With over 4 million subscribers globally and a dominant market share in the ANZ region, Xero has built an ecosystem that businesses trust with their financial data.

The Xero App Partner program isn’t just about being listed in a marketplace. It’s a stamp of quality. Xero reviews each integration to ensure it meets their standards for security, data handling, and user experience. For Text Reload users, this means you can connect your Xero account with confidence, knowing the integration has been thoroughly vetted.

The Certification Journey

Getting here wasn’t a quick process, and honestly, we’re glad it wasn’t. Xero’s certification involves passing through multiple checkpoints that test different aspects of the integration:

  • OAuth2 Implementation: Proper authentication flows with secure token management
  • Data Integrity: Ensuring contacts and invoices sync accurately without data loss
  • Scope Minimisation: Only requesting access to the data we actually need (read-only access to invoices and contacts)
  • Error Handling: Graceful handling of edge cases and API failures
  • Security Assessment: A review by Xero’s security team against standards developed in collaboration with the Australian Tax Office

These requirements pushed us to build a robust integration from the ground up. We covered much of the technical implementation in our deep dive on building Text Reload with Frappe, including how we handle OAuth2 connections and background data syncing.

What This Means for Text Reload Users

With the Xero integration, Text Reload can now:

  • Import your invoices and contacts directly from Xero, keeping everything in sync automatically
  • Send payment reminders based on overdue invoices, with customisable timing and messaging
  • Automate re-booking reminders for service businesses, triggered by past invoice dates
  • Request reviews and feedback after jobs are completed
  • Enable two-way SMS so customers can reply directly to your messages

The integration runs in the background, regularly syncing new invoices and contacts so your campaigns always have up-to-date data. No manual imports, no spreadsheets, just seamless automation.

What’s Next

This partnership represents our commitment to building integrations that New Zealand and Australian businesses can rely on. We’ll continue investing in the Xero integration, adding new features based on user feedback.

If you’re a Xero user looking to automate your customer communications, we’d love for you to give Text Reload a try. And if you’re curious about the technical details of how we built it, check out our Frappe framework deep dive.

Thanks to everyone who’s been part of this journey. We’re just getting started.
